The Dirty Dozen Brass Band

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band is a New Orleans brass band formed in 1977 that brought funk and bebop into the city's traditional jazz. The current tour has six dates in the United States, from November 2026 to May 2027, and it mixes clubs and theaters: Sellersville Theater, La Rosa in Tucson, The Iron Horse in Northampton and Uihlein Hall in Milwaukee. This is a show for anyone who wants jazz you can dance to, and for listeners who know records such as Buck Jump from 1999 or Twenty Dozen from 2012. With 13 studio albums listed on MusicBrainz, the band has plenty of material for a long night. When buying, look at the type of room. In a club the closeness counts most, while in a theater the horns have more space to carry. The 2023 Grammy for Best American Roots Performance shows the band is still in form.
