In Oulu, she presents the effervescent Piano Concerto No. 16 in D Major, radiating youthful Viennese spirit. Belgium's perhaps best-known contemporary composer, Frederik Devreese, made his name equally as a master of film music. His Benvenuta Suite pulses with decadence and fantasy, carried along by the rhythms of tango, habanera and waltz. Béla Bartók transformed the music of Hungary into a gift for the entire world. His final -- and by far most frequently performed -- work is the Concerto for Orchestra, a landmark of neoclassicism. Striking solos pass from one instrument to the next for nearly forty minutes.
